Business and leisure travellers are about to benefit from an exciting new air service.
Eastern Airways will launch its first-ever international flights from Durham Tees Valley Airport to Brussels in October 2006. The full-service UK regional airline will offer flights each weekday to and from the EU capital.
Keith Watson, Eastern Airways' head of sales and marketing, says: "There has been a lot of interest for this route from the region's business community and it will help to strengthen links with one of Europe's most important cities, while enabling travellers to get there and back in a day."
Mark Clarkson, Durham Tees Valley Airport's business development manager, says: "The North East Chamber of Commerce, the North East Process Cluster and a number of major businesses in the Tees Valley have been of great assistance to establishing this service and we look forward to another significant route from Durham Tees Valley.
"Feedback from key employers in the region confirms that the route is strategically important for the successful development of many local industries and the new service will deliver valuable time savings for business travellers."
