Want to learn how to play golf or improve you game without being intimidated? Then you should pay Gubeon Golf Centre a visit.

Being a PGA-approved coaching centre it's the ideal place to brush up on your golf, whether you are a beginner, an improver, or whether you haven't played for a while and just want to polish up on your game.

Gubeon offers flexible coaching packages tailored to your needs and schedule and can also offer coaching from three local and well-respected golf professionals in Marcus Webb, Richard West and Don Wright, who is also a club maker and is able to handle any special requirements.

The trio work in close co-operation with Northumberland County Education Committee's further education department, locally-based at King Edward VI School in Morpeth.

And through membership of a golf class at a local authority further education centre, you are entitled to substantial coaching discounts at specified times.

Gubeon has a 15-bay floodlit driving range, plus six outdoor grass driving bays, a grassed pitch and putt practice area and a nine hole par three course which measures 1,217 yards and is open seven days a week.

It's pay-as-you-play with no need for membership and there is also golf equipment for hire and for sale while facilities are ideal for golfers who suffer limited mobility.

There is a licensed bar and coffee shop which serves light meals. In short Gubeon Golf Centre offers a complete package - golf, practice, driving, coaching, equipment hire, food and drink.

Juniors and women golfers are encouraged and owner Gillian Robson is keen to make the whole experience enjoyable for all golfers and has done so since they opened for business in the 1990s.

You can play nine holes for as little as £6 and 18 holes for less than a tenner (£9.50) which is good value in anybody's book.

Most of the holes on the par three course are around the 100 to 180 yard mark which makes it ideal for the beginner or someone looking to improve their game.

Each hole is named after someone who works or has worked at Gubeon and ranges from 180 yards at the fifth to just 90 yards at the eighth.
