Disappointed police today said an appeal for witnesses to a Teesside airgun shooting has drawn a blank.
As reported in yesterday's Gazette, a 13-year-old Eston girl was left with a pellet embedded in her nasal bone after the Saturday night shooting.
The youngster, who is due to return to hospital tomorrow to have the pellet removed, was near the Whale Hill shops at around 11pm when she was shot in the head.
An appeal for witnesses was made by police, who said the girl was lucky not to have been blinded or worse.
But today, Detective Sergeant Tom Drysdale said there had so far been no response at all.
