Teesside-born Alasdhair Willis is to marry designer Stella McCartney, reports claim today.
The 32-year-old publisher is said to have proposed to the daughter of Sir Paul McCartney at the weekend.
Stella and Alasdhair, who went to Brackenhoe School in Middlesbrough, have been together since last summer.
He left Teesside to study at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art, although members of his close family remain in the area and he is a regular visitor.
Alasdhair brought Stella to Teesside at Christmas to meet his family.
However, it's unlikely that they will choose Teesside for a wedding venue.
The celebrity pair, though shunning the limelight, enjoy a lavish lifestyle based in London.
Alasdhair is known by Vogue magazine as 'Mr Gucci' because of his love of designer clothes.
It's a passion obviously shared by his fashion designer girlfriend Stella, who works for Gucci.
Wherever they decide to marry, the guest list will certainly be impressive.
Mingling with Alasdhair's Teesside relatives will be the showbiz A list who make up the couple's best friends - among them Madonna and Guy Ritchie, Kate Moss, Liv Tyler and Lenny Kravitz.
