I read with great interest Executive Coalition, and Liberal Democrat, councillor Vera Moody's comments regarding MP Vera Baird's call for a full and open debate about the proposed development for Redcar's Coatham enclosure scheme.
What does Cllr Moody find "opportunistic" about full, transparent and open debate about this development? Surely it is a Member of Parliament and a councillor's obligation to allow the public to have some form of median with which to express support or opposition to any proposal.
Or is it because this council simply wants to force through another policy without any dialogue with the public?
What is clear is that our MP is trying to provide an opportunity for people to say something about this issue, while our council is not - whether people support the enclosure or not.
