A teenager has been hit with a three-year Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) for terrorising pensioners in East Cleveland. The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was responsible for a reign of intimidation and harassment on elderly Guisborough residents between October 21 last year and October 20 this year. The order was granted by magistrates at Langbaurgh Magistrates Court. . Sgt Bryan Tams of Langbaurgh police community safety team, said: "A number of months ago we met elderly residents who told us about this young man's behaviour. "He has been pestering and harassing them for over a year. He was terrorising them. "We have worked very closely with our partners and we are very pleased about the ASBO. "As a police officer it makes your job worthwhile when you get results like this." The ASBO prohibits him from: :: acting in a manner which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress to any person in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland; :: inciting or encouraging others to act in a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress to any person in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland; :: gathering in groups of three or more people where the conduct of the group could cause harassment, alarm, or distress; :: harassing or intimidating any elderly person or approaching or visiting any elderly person not related to him unless supervised while in employment or while on a training scheme; :: entering any residential care home without the permission or invitation of the care home manager; :: interfering with or impeding any emergency service; :: standing in Howlbeck Road, Guisborough, or going into Howlbeck Road, save to use it as a thoroughfare, and going into any shop on Howlbeck Road. |
